Research & policy analysis
We work with partners to produce original research, policy papers, and analytical reports on journalism funding, information ecosystems, media governance, and AI’s impact on public interest media.
We also contribute our analysis to policy consultations and advocacy processes, including submissions to parliamentary and government reviews.
Funding & financing strategy
We help funders, philanthropies, and investors design and evaluate journalism and media funding programmes – from individual grant making strategies to city- and field-level initiatives. This includes:
- Funding landscape analysis and mapping
- Programme design, theory of change development, and logic modelling
- Mid-term and end-of-project independent evaluation
- Advising on cross-sectoral and diverse finance approaches
Organisational & strategic development & planning
We work directly with independent media organisations and networks, journalism support organisations (JSOs), and intermediaries on their strategy, governance, and development. This includes:

- Strategy development and facilitation

Programme management and project design
We have long experience of designing, managing, and coordinating complex multi-stakeholder programmes and projects across the journalism and media development sectors, including international initiatives spanning multiple geographies and funders.
Stakeholder engagement & consultation
We design and facilitate stakeholder consultation processes for funders, policy bodies, and institutions – including focus groups, expert convenings, and structured dialogue processes.
